My son and I brought a couple bags with us on our walk today in case we found any litter. We were disheartened to fill them up so quickly. In fact, we found so much trash, we had to grab a shopping cart to take our haul to the dumpster!
In just 30 minutes, we filled up one bag with trash and the other with recyclable material. We also found two paint cans and several electronics, which we’ll take to our local eco center for proper disposal.
Despite the look on my son’s face, he actually enjoyed himself. He called himself a “plastic warrior” and said he’d like for this to be his job 🙂 I suspect this will become a regular thing for us. He’s already planning a second outing …
