I made a fresh batch of DIY toothpaste today. Total time including cleanup = 3 minutes! I like to make this recipe when I feel like my teeth need a little extra whitening 😉
Ingredients:
2 tbsp coconut oil
1 tbsp baking soda
Few drops essential oil (choose a flavor you like)
Directions:
1. Mix and store in small glass container.
2. Apply small amount to toothbrush and brush normally.
3. Flash your sparkling white smile 😀
What ‘essential oil’ are you using? Not sure what you’re using here. Thanks!
I used a few drops of orange essential oil 🙂
What do you store it in? Do you have to make it every time you brush your teeth?
I store it in a tiny mason jar. I only make a new batch of toothpaste once I run out. I haven’t used it this summer because it’s been too warm (coconut oil becomes liquid at 76F). I’m currently buying toothpaste in bulk at a zero waste grocery store (I fill the same small mason jar). In the fall, I’ll start making my own toothpaste again because I miss it! 🙂
