It’s blueberry season here in Quebec! To celebrate, we went to Bleuetière Ste-Marguerite, a nearby farm where we could pick our own blueberries. It was a fun and delicious zero waste outing 😋
We filled three quart-sized mason jars for only $9 CAD, which is way cheaper than what we’d pay at the grocery store for pesticide-free blueberries. We carried our harvest home in a homemade cloth bag so our harvest would be plastic-free.
We kept a third of the blueberries to eat fresh then froze the rest. This way we’ll be able to enjoy blueberries year-round in smoothies and muffins without having to buy frozen blueberries later in plastic bags 🙂
